Hop Cyclone | Tröegs
Okay I just have to say it... this beer blew me away.
I’m sorry (I did warn you about my love for terrible puns), but after freezing outside in a sundress in 30 degree weather while getting blasted with leaves I have no shame left.
I first tried Hop Cyclone last year when Josh and I visited Hershey, Pennsylvania for a Bikes and Beers event. The ride was cancelled at the last minute due to COVID but we decided to go anyway and make a mini beercation out of it.
Of course our first stop was Tröegs Independent Brewing. Not only do they brew consistently incredible beers but they celebrate and inspire creativity in a way that is completely unmatched in the industry. Tröegs embodies elegance and whimsy in equal measure.
Before throwing myself joyfully into Mad Elf season I wanted to give this soft, chewy IPA a proper send-off. At 9% ABV Hop Cyclone is a gentle storm of overripe tropical fruit and mild hop bitterness.
As always, thank you to my wonderful husband for his willingness to be a part of my crazy beer schemes. We shot this in an open field, which meant he diligently herded a massive pile of leaves (with the help of a leaf blower) from the nearby woods so he could bombard me with them. So really maybe he should be thanking me.
